Our brand new Christmas single for 2025 is Welcome Home. The song tells the story of a child longing for a place to call home at Christmas and then finding a home and a place where they can belong!
The song has been written to raise awareness of the need for more foster carers. Every day, over 100 children enter the care system and there is a chronic shortage of foster carers who can provide a safe space where these children can thrive and belong, for however long.
Once the song was written, we decided to up the ante and pay to get it professionally recorded. Nat Graham, a producer and engineer who works in one of the top London studios, has kindly given his time to record and produce the track for us, after Keith Murphy created a stunning orchestral backing track from the original piano and choral parts composed by our very own Chris Kimmance.
We approached The Diagrama Foundation to see if they would be interested in coming on board and making a video of the song, centred around us as a choir recording it. We had 147 singers on November 9th who sang their hearts out at the Ashford International Hotel to make the recording that you hear today.
Our aim isn’t particularly to raise funds (although every penny of money raised will be going to The Diagrama Foundation for them to continue their great work – go here and take a look at what they get up to), but the song is most definitely to raise the profile and share the need for more people to come forward and explore fostering or adoption.
As a choir, we have raised many thousands for our local hospice and support many good causes and we LOVE to be a part of a story that is bigger than our own.
Please, find us on FB and Instagram and like and share any posts about the song. Please also find the song on YouTube and like and share there too. Finally, please, please, please download and play the song from Apple Music, Amazon Prime, Spotify or any number of other streaming platforms. It all raises the profile and every little bit helps to make a difference! Who knows, the next foster carer that gives a child a place of belonging could be you?
