Coronavirus Update

18th March 2020

To all our wonderful members, loyal families and supporters – greetings!

It is with sadness that we are having to temporarily stop meeting as AS! for rehearsals and for gigs. Following the change in advice from the government on Monday evening, we have felt this to be the best course of action. As much as for many of us we would not consider singing ‘optional’, we honour and respect the authorities who are doing their very best to keep us all safe. We love singing, but meeting together in times such as this does needs to be considered optional – as much as it will be desperately missed.

As things stand, it is looking unlikely that we will restart for the summer season as planned on Sunday April 19th. We have no way of knowing when it would be considered ‘safe’ for us all to meet again. Should this happen during the summer season, we may well do a cut-down set and get together to sing. More likely, it will be September.

We are looking at other ways we could get together online and thank you to those who have sent the info about the online choir. Rest assured, we are looking into it and will see if we can get the odd online event or two going next month.

Much love to all – stay safe and be well. If you need any practical help, then please call Ashford Vineyard’s Warehouse which is open every morning, Mon-Fri. 01233 331919. We would be only too happy to try to help where we can.

See you online soon, or fighting over loo rolls in a supermarket!

Chris & Nic
